This year the Belmont Stakes, the last leg of the Triple Crown, will take place on Saturday 5th June and the horse racing event always generates excitement in advance. Potential entries this year are already taking shape. The Triple Crown starts with the Kentucky Derby, follows with the Preakness and finally ends with Belmont Stakes that take place in Belmont Park in Elmont, Nueva York.
It has already been confirmed that Super Saver, winner of the 2010 Kentucky Derby, and Lookin Lucky, winner of the 2010 Preakness Stakes, will not ride in Belmont. However, there are many other horses among potential entries that are really promising, such as First Dude, New Madrid, Game on Dude and Stately Victor.
Setsuko, who was one of the favorite race horses for the 2010 Belmont Stakes, finally was withdrawn from potential entries due to inflammation. Dublin is another important name that apparently won’t be in the Belmont Stakes Field, which means that for the first time since 2006 no horse will compete in all three legs of the Triple Crown.
For those who also enjoy all the events that take place around the Belmont Stakes, the Belmont Festival Week will start on 29th May as well as the Garden City Belmont Stakes Festival and the Northeast Equine Expo. The events feature live bands and fun for the whole family to enjoy a pleasant evening and get ready for one of the most important races in the horse racing world.
