Jockey Philip Hide suffered a terrible fall at Cheltenham on Saturday and he is now in stable condition. “He had concussion and was very confused after the fall, but the brain scan was normal,” a spokesperson for the Cheltenham General Hospital said.

Hide, who was riding Hatch A Plan during a novice’s hurdle, was thrown into the running rail when his mount slipped and fell. At first he was lucid but his state got worse later and he was taken to the hospital.

The young jockey suffered a head injury and underwent surgery due to a fracture in his pelvis. Although he is now facing a long recovery which might include physiotherapy, doctors are confident that Hide will be able to ride again in the future.
