One more run for Ouija Board

Lord Derby announced this week that Ouija Board would race at least one more time before retiring at the end of the year. The five-year-old mare won her second Breeder’s Cup Filly and Mare Turf last Saturday together with a place in history books.

“It's a huge credit, not just to her but to Ed and all the team at Gainsborough, to keep a horse at that level of condition and that quality for three years running is remarkable,” Lord Derby said. “She's the most successful horse in Breeders' Cup history now, I think, with two wins and a second.”

He also explained that Ouija Board had one or two more races. “She goes out to Japan and then to Hong Kong and we'll wait and see how she's feeling but she looked yesterday like she's still enjoying it.”

After her Far East adventure, Ouija Board will return to Kentucky to start her breeding career.
