Henry Cecil’s Passage of Time, who won several Group One races as a juvenile, may not take part in York’s three-day meeting despite being enrolled in the Juddmonte International and the Darley Yorkshire Oaks. The filly recently finished eighth at Epsom behind her stable companion Light Shift.
“She is not certain to run in either race,” Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Prince Khalid Abdullah said. “I know people will automatically think there is something wrong, but I can assure you there isn't. Our main objective is to get her spot-on so she is not a certain runner at York.”
The daughter of Dansili, winner of several Group One races as a juvenile, recently received treatment for a throat abscess. For that reason, her connections are quite unwilling to rush her back into competition. However, Grimthorpe assured she is in very good form and has been working nicely.
"There is a very good program for her depending on how she goes and where she goes. Races like the Prix Vermeille, the l'Opera and the Arc in France, the Breeders' Cup. As a result, we don't want to be rushing her back in to Group One bearing in mind that there are these good races that we want to get her right for,” Grimthorpe finished.
