Thoroughbred Australian colt Zipping is on the track of confirming that he is to become a legend of the horse racing world. This week the horse won the weight-for-age Group II Patinack Farm Sandown Classic race that took place at Betfair Park in the Sandown Hillside track. By winning, Zipping became the first horse to win the Sandown Classic three times in more than a century.

Lloyd Williams owns this nine-year-old brilliant horse who showed throughout the entire season that he is a strong competitor, winning four races in a row. Zipping also is the fourth racehorse who has managed to win the same competitions for four or more years straight in the history of horse racing in Australia.

Up to this moment Zipping has run in 46 races with prizes that reach the $ 4,531,195. He won a total of 15 races, ended second in three races and finished third in seven races. The colt finished second in the Cox Plate in 2010 and ended in the fourth place in the Melbourne Cup. “He is a freak of nature he is just so tough. He will go for a break now and we will probably bring him back in the autumn and let him defend his Australian Cup,” racing manager Nick Williams said.

It has not been confirmed if Zipping will return next season, but even if he does not he already has earned his place in the history of Australian horseracing and he will be remembered as a legendary horse.
